So this happened at Subway the other day

Me wearing my Pizza John shirt at subway:

Sandwich Artist:  Who's that guy?

Me:  Um... John Green.

Sandwich Artist:  I've heard that name before. Is he like running for president?

Me:  No.. He wrote some books. You've probably heard of The Fault In Our Stars.

Sandwich Artist:  oh yeah. That thing . Well he should run for president. I'd vote for him, since I take it from your shirt he's a pizza fan. I'm pro pizza.

The Big Bang: Crash Course Big History #1

In which John Green, Hank Green, and Emily Graslie teach you about, well, everything. Big History is the history of everything. We’re going to start with the Big Bang, take you right through all of history (recorded and otherwise), and even talk a little bit about the future. It is going to be awesome. In the awe-inspiring sense of the word awesome. In this episode, we walk you through the start of everything: The Big Bang. We’ll look at how the universe unfolded at its very beginning, and how everything in the universe that we know today came into being. So that’s kind of a big deal, right?

So… this is a big announcement!

The Big History Project is what I would have loved to experience in my high school classroom. It contextualizes… everything. Instead of putting up arbitrary barriers around subjects, it encourages participants to approach history - history of science, math, the earth, our solar system, civilization - in the only way we can begin to make sense of it all, which is through relational context.

And I’m really, really proud to announce that I’ve got a few minor guest hosting roles throughout the series! It’s a big honor to be asked to participate and serve as Scientific Claims Tester. Plus I got to hang out in the Crash Course studio like whaaaaaaaat

joceydraws:

So happy to finally show you all what I’ve been working for the past 8 weeks! Here’s my re-imagining of the classic story, Peter Pan!

This is a project I did for my Color and Story class at Art Center with Richard Keyes. The class was assigned to create 4 characters and key scenes based on the story of Peter Pan. If you’ve followed me before my Art Center days, then you’ll know that Peter Pan was something I did for my entrance portfolio for college. It was fun to come back to my old project and revamp it!

In all honesty, I’m still planning on reworking several pieces for this project and add more characters and key scenes. BUT I thought I’d share regardless that way we can all see the progression of this particular project!

Characters  :

- Hook
- Wendy
- Peter
- Tinkerbell
- Tigerlily (not added)
- The Lost Boys (not added)

Key Scenes :

- Wendy gives Peter a “thimble”
- Peter realizes Wendy is alive, Tinkerbell looks upon them with guilt
- Wendy decides she wants to return home
- Peter returns Wendy home and gives her a “kiss”

Enjoy! :)
